Photo Restoration

A good family snapshot can become a great old photograph by simply fixing a few flaws. A genealogy photo can be greatly improved by our photo enhancement process.

We remove scratches, cracks and replace missing or damaged areas. We apply digital photo restoration or photo enhance to adjust contrast, sharpness, and colour levels of your photograph. Original photos can be resized as well. What a unique gift idea!!!

A note regarding "sepia" tones. You know how old photos had that "brown and beige" look? You will notice that some of the restorations done by Stage Right Design are very "black and white." This is because that is how the photos first looked, and were intended to look. The brownish tones have only happened over time, due to ageing. When the original photographs were first produced, they were black and white. This is why Stage Right Design likes to adhere to what the original photograph was intended to look like. We do have clients, however, that prefer the "sepia" brown and beige tones. If this is what you prefer, then this will be done. The customer is always right at Stage Right!

Here are some examples of our photo restoration work:

Photo Restoration

This photograph was taken in 1914. The father is not present as he was away fighting World War I. It became so damaged as he carried it around Europe for two years. Much of the original detail was missing because of the tape that had once been a quick fix. Look at the results of the restoration!

Photo Restoration

While not really damaged, the owner of this photo didn't like the telephone wire across the top, and the view of the garage and truck in the back alley. We removed the telephone wire, and replaced the back alley with some lovely trees, as well as cropped and re-sized the photo.

Photo Restoration

This photo was taken in 1967. Not only severely damaged, the client wished to have a portrait of herself in the park. We removed the other person from the photo!
